Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackray today held meeting with senior party leaders to decide on joining BJP government. After the meeting Party spokesman Sanjay Raut told media persons that the party will announce its future plans tomorrow.
Earlier today, Shiv Sena’s youth wing leader Aditya Thackeray said that if BJP sends a proposal with dignity, Shiv Sena will definitely consider it.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Om Prakash Mathur today said in Mumbai that for the government formation in Maharshtra, his party is open to take support of all those who want progress of the state. However, he made it clear that central parliamentary board of the BJP will take final decision on NCP’s willingness to extend direct or indirect support to BJP government. Mr Mathur, who was also election in charge of Maharashtra, reiterated that Shiv Sena is a natural ally and it should join the government. He further added that Shiv Sena itself has to decide on extending support to BJP for government formation.
BJP has named Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra’s next Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony of the Maharashtra’s first BJP government will be held on Friday.
Meanwhile, Governor of Maharashtra has asked Chief Minister designate Devendra Fadnavis to prove majority within 15 days after swearing in ceremony.
