<span style="color: #222222;">Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray yesterday questioned the choice of BJP's candidate in Kankavli in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, claiming that the party has ignored good candidates. Addressing a rally in the district, Mr Thackeray took a dig at BJP candidate Nitesh Rane without taking his name. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Kankavli seat has been a bone of contention for the BJP-Shiv Sena combine with the Shiv Sena fielding its candidate Satish Sawant even though the seat was allocated to BJP in the seat-sharing arrangement. Nitesh's father Narayan Rane, a former Shiv Sainik was expelled from the party in 2005. He later joined the Congress. In 2017, Mr Rane quit Congress and formed his own party, the Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha.
