Mr. Uday Kumar Varma has been appointed the new Secretary of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. An IAS Officer of 1976 batch, Mr. Varma succeeds Mr. Raghu Menon following his superannuation. Mr. Varma was working as Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises prior to this assignment.

He has also worked as special Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting before he took over as Secretary in Ministry of Micro Small and Medium enterprises.
