Indian eves are on course for a knockout berth in the Uber Cup badminton tournament, being held in China. At Kunshan today, they recorded a dominating 5-0 win over Germany. Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu won their respective singles matches and then Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa won the first women's doubles to help the team take an unassailable 3-0 lead. In the last two inconsequential matches, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde won her Singles, while N Sikki Reddy and Sindhu paired up to win the second doubles event. The Indian eves who thrashed Australia by a similar margin yesterday, will take on the 2014 runners-up Japan in a Group D match tomorrow. In the men's competition for the Thomas Cup, the Indian team suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat against Hong Kong today. The Indian Men's team who lost their opening Tie against Thailand by the same margin, face an early exit from the tournament. The men will next take on Indonesia in a Group B match tomorrow.
