The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Kingdom (UK) have signed a Nuclear Cooperation Agreement. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom William Hague in Abu Dhabi today. According to an official statement, Sheikh Abdullah and Hague have also signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on consular matters and on mutual exemption of visa for holders of diplomatic or private passports.The 2010 Abu Dhabi Declaration, reaffirming the 1971 Treaty of Friendship was also signed at the ceremony to affirm that the UAE and the UK consult, in times of need, on matters of mutual interest and promote scientific, educational and cultural cooperation and recognize close and outstanding trade relations.
