The UAE will be celebrating the International Day of Happiness, which falls on March 20 every year. This day is marked by the establishment of the World Happiness Council by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.<br/><br/>"Happiness is a journey, not a destination," Ohood Al Roomi, the Minister of Happiness said on the eve of the International Happiness day. Al Roomi, who was appointed to her post in February, last year, is the world's first cabinet-level official to head the happiness ministry of a nation.<br/><br/>Commenting on the Happiness Day Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, said: "The concept of happiness is not new to the UAE, whose prudent wise leadership has long sought to bring happiness to everyone living in the UAE and provide them with a decent life.<br/><br/>All government policies, programmes and services must contribute to a positive and happy society, industry and the government's job is to create an appropriate environment for the happiness of individuals, families and staff and consolidate positivity as a fundamental value in the UAE society". A number of programmes are being organized all over UAE to mark the day.
