Newspapers in UAE have commended the grand opening show of Commonwealth games in New Delhi last evening with pictures of the event on the front page of Monday’s edition. Leading daily Khaleej Times writes in its banner headline, ‘Spectacular opening show’ while other important daily ‘Gulf News’ says ‘ games off to grand start’. People across United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other West Asian counties watched the ceremony live and were all praise for it. The daily newspaper Gulf published from Sharjah on Monday says in its headline, ‘Harness Games for peace’. It further says that the Commonwealth Games sparked into life with a pulsating opening ceremony.
