U.S. stocks retreated on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq snapping five-session winning streaks as retailers declined after some disappointing outlook.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2 percent, the S&P 500 slipped by 0.2 percent and the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.7 percent.
