A strong batting line up clicked in the first match against Pakistam while bowlers pcame out with an excellent performance in the second match.In the matches today, England beat New Zealand by 115 runs in Dubai. Batting first England scored 229 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. R.Higgins was the toip scorer with 83 runs. In reply, Kiwis were bowled out for 114 runs in 36 overs.South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by 7 wickets in Abu Dhabi. Zimbabwe made 198 runs in 50 overs. South Africa reached the victory target in 39 overs thanks to a superb century by A.Markaran who remained not out on 120 runs.West Indies beat Canada by 63 runs in another match in Abu Dhabi. T.Chanderpaul came out with yet another superb innings of 93 as caribbeans posted a total of 289 runs in 50 overs. In reply, Canada were all out for 226 in 49.3 overs.Sri Lanka defeated host UAE in Sharjah. Batting first UAE made 205 runs in 47.5 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka reached the victory target in 43.1 overs. Hasan Dumindu was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with a power packed 113 runs.
