U-19 World Cup: India beat Scotland by 5 wickets

India overcame initial jitters to beat Scotland by five wickets in the ICC Under 19 cricket World Cup in Dubai today. Left arm leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav became the first ever bowler to strike a hattrick in the Junior World Cup. He along with off spinner Amir Ghani bagged four wickets each. On the batting front Sarfaraz Khan and Deepak Hooda saved the day for India. Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged Man of the Match for his four wicket haul including the first ever hattrick.Batting first, Scotland were off to a bad start losing the first two wickets to the Indian pacers. But the introduction of spin made matters worse for them. In his fifth over Kuldeep Yadav had Farrar caught by Hooda , then struck Stirling plumb in front of the wicket on the last two balls. O the very first delivery of sixth over, he bowled Baum to get the first ever hattrick in the Junior world cup. Kuldeep Yadav and off spinner Amir Ghani bagged eight of the 10 wickets in Scotland innings each. Chasing a victory target of 89, India were off to a disastrous start and top five batsmen were in the pavilion at the score of 22 runs. Sarfaraz Khan then joined hands with Deepak Hooda to steer India to the victory. Sarfaraz Khan made a quickfire 45 runs of 51 deliveries while Deepak Hooda scored 24 runs of 40 deliveries. India now play Papua New Guinea in their last group match.
