Typhoon death toll rises to 32 in China

<span style="color: #222222;">In China, the death toll from Typhoon Lekima in the eastern part of the country has risen to 32. Local authorities said today that rescue teams are working to find more than a dozen people still missing after the storm triggered a landslide and forced the evacuation of more than a million residents.<br />'' <br />'' The storm hit Wenling city yesterday, packing winds of nearly 190 kilometres per hour and generating waves several metres high along the coast. <br />'' <br />'' According to Zhejiang provincial authorities, sixteen people were still missing. More than a million people were evacuated from their homes ahead of the typhoon. According to authorities, the natural disaster has caused economic losses of more than 2.2 billion dollars. <br />'' <br />'' Lekima had crossed into Jiangsu province north of Shanghai and was expected to hit Shandong province later today. More than 3,200 flights have been cancelled due to the typhoon,  as Shanghai, Beijing and other cities grounded planes.</span>
