In Uttar Pradesh, two wildlife smugglers were arrested with 927 tortoises packed in sacks in Ibrahimpur area. Deputy Superintendent of Police R K Sharma said in Ambedkarnagar today that the duo was arrested near Naipura village and 17 sacks full of tortoises were recovered from their possession. According to Police sources, the arrested accused revealed that they used to supply tortoises to West Bengal.
