Two terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in J&K

Two terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in J&K

The J&K police have identified one among slain terrorists in Brath Sopore encounter as Hizbul Mujahideen Divisional Commander in north Kashmir Parvaiz Ahmad Wani of Galoora Handwara area of Kupwara district. Another terrorist was identified as Hizbul Mujahideen Battalion Commander Nayeem Ahmad Najar of Sopore area.<br/><br/>As reported earlier, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shangargund area of Check-e-Brath Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district early on Monday morning. The cordon and search operation was launched on the basis of specific information about the presence of two terrorists in the area.<br/> <br/>A senior police spokesman Manoj Pandita told AIR that the slain terrorists were involved in many anti national and anti social activities. The spokesman said, Pervaiz Ahmad was involved in the serial blasts on mobile towers in 2015 and also in the killing of two police personnel in Handwara market in 2013. <br/><br/>He said, two AK rifles, three AK magazines, 90 AK rounds, One INSAS rifle, one INSAS Magazine, 13 INSAS rounds and other ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.<br/><br/>All educational institutions in major towns in Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts had been closed to maintain law and order. Internet services remained suspended in Sopore and some other areas in north Kashmir region.
