Two public sector companies sets up nuclear power plants in country: Minister

Two public sector companies, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and Bhaaratiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited are presently setting up nuclear power plants in the country. For this, the government amended the Atomic Energy Act of 1962. Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh said this in the Lok Sabha today. <br/><br/>In reply to a question he ruled out private partnership in nuclear power generation. But he admitted that private sector companies have joined hands in a big way in setting up nuclear power plants through supply of components, equipment and building construction.
