Two policemen killed in clashes with agitating farmers in Greater Noida

The farmer’s agitation in Grater Noida today turned violent and two police men have lost their lives in firing by farmers. District magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar Deepak Agrawal was injured. State police spokesperson told AIR Allahabad correspondent that both police personnel were believed to have been injured in firing by farmers and they succumbed to injury in a private hospital of Noiada. However confirmed reports are still awaited, the spokesperson said. Police sources said that they also fired on the violent mob and used tear gas shell. Meanwhile, the three kidnapped U.P roadways employees who had been hostage since yesterday by the farmers have been rescued. The agitating farmers are making several demands including higher compensations for their land acquired by the government for Yamuna expressway and some other projects. The agitation was going on for last three months . Police spokesperson said that the situation near Bhatta parsaul area under Dankaur police station area of Gautam Budhnagar district is still very tense and several conflicting reports are coming about injured people. He said that there is information that some police personnel have also been held as hostage by agitating farmers. The Police ,PAC and Rapid action force have already been deployed in that area . Police forces from neary by districts have also been placed in this troubled area. The agitating farmers from this area had kidnapped three Uttar Pradesh roadways officials yesterday near Bhatta parsaul area when they went for a survey of a bus route between Noida and Dankaur Jhajhar road .
