In Manipur, Imphal East District Police Commandos have arrested on Thursday two cadres of the proscribed outfit – People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Police sources said that one of them was arrested on Thursday morning from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal and on his disclosure to police, the another militant was arrested later on from New Checkon Crossing under Porompat Police Station. Police have recovered two mobile phones and ten extortion letters from the militants. The police sources further said that the extortion letters were drafted to give to the aspiring candidates of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections which have been scheduled on the 28th of the nextmonth.
