In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, two persons were arrested with a pistol and ammunition in the south Kashmir's Kulgam district. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Danish and Nawshad, both residents of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. A pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition were recovered from their possession.<br />''<br />''According to the Police, specific information was received by the Kulgam Police from reliable sources late last night that illegal arms and ammunition were being transported in a car coming from Banihal towards Qazigund Kashmir.<br />''<br />'' On receipt of this information, a joint check point was established near Jawahar Tunnel by the Kulgam Police, 9 Rashtriya Rifles and 24 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force and subsequently the said car was intercepted.
