Two Naxalites including a woman were killed in the encounter of the Police patrol party with the Maoists near Halvera-Nargunda villages in Bhamragad taluka of the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra on Thursday morning. According to the information received from the police sources, the incident took place while the police patrol party was carrying a search operation in the area and was subjected to indiscriminate firing by the armed group of Maoists. The combined Police party comprising the Central Reserve Police Force and State Policemen returned the fire and the two Naxalites were killed in the exchange of fire. One policeman also had to sacrifice his life and two others were injured in the incident.Exchange of fire between armed group of Maoists and police is on at Tadgaon in the same taluka of the district.
