In Jammu and Kashmir, two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in Banihal area of Ramban district in the wee hours on Sunday. According to official sources, acting on specific information about the presence of militants in Akhran area of Banihal, Army, Police and CRPF launched a joint operation to track down the militants. In the gun fight that followed, two militants were killed who have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed alias Abu Musa and Zulkarnaian alias Farooq C. AIR Correspondent reports that two AK-47 rifles, six magazines and 160 rounds of AK rifles, 10 Chinese-made granades and one satellite phone were recovered from the dead militants.
