Two jawans injured in Naxal attack in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, two jawans of the C-60 Police Squad were injured in a Naxal attack near Kamangad village in Dhanor taluka of Gadchiroli district in eastern Vidarbha region on Monday evening. Police sources said, the incident took place when the team of National Commission of Child Rights headed by its Chairperson Dr. Shanta Sinha was returning to Gadchiroli district headquarters after visiting a residential school at Kamangad. The group of armed outlaws fired indiscriminately at the convoy of vehicles of the dignitaries, the exchange of fire continued for about half-an hour following which the Naxalites fled from the scene.
