Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has urged non- resident Keralites to contribute their acquired experience and skill from around the globe for the progress and development of the state. Inaugurating global non-resident Keralites meet 2011 in Thiruvananthapuram, he said that both the Centre and state governments have initiated a number of steps to mitigate the sufferings of those working abroad, especially in gulf countries.Addressing the meet attended by Malayalee entrepreneurs from around the globe, state Industry Minister PK Kunjalikutty said that Emerging Kerala Summit 2012 will be held in Kochi in September to attract investment in infrastructure sectors.Complimenting the role played by non resident Keralities in boosting the state economy, Finance Minister KM Mani pointed out that their savings in different banks come to 43,000 crore rupees.He said, steps are being initiated to strengthen rural agriculture sector of Kerala to provide jobs to those returning from gulf countries.
