Two-day long ceremony to celebrate victory of Indian Army in 1971 Indo-Pak War begins at Fort William in Kolkata

<span style="color: #222222;">A two-day long ceremony to celebrate the victory of the Indian Army in the 1971 Indo-Pak War and the emergence of independent Bangladesh has begun at Fort William, the Army's eastern headquarters in Kolkata on Friday. The programme was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita, Chief of Army Staff of Eastern Command. On behalf of the delegation of Bangladesh, Mohammad Momin Ullah Patwari recollected the memories of the 1971 liberation war. He said that they fought for the freedom of their country with the help of India and the Pakistani army was forced to retreat. He added that now they are living better life than in Pakistan. Another war hero Kazi Zainul Abedin said that they are eternally grateful for the way India helped Bangladesh to get its independence.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">For the Indian Army, Brigadier Ajit Apte, Brigadier Prakash T Ghoke, Lt. Gen JS Cheema, Lt Gen JR Mukherjee reminisced about the 1971 war. An exhibition was also organized to pay tribute to the martyrs.</span><br />
