In Uttar Pradesh, two day convention of state congress begins tomorrow in Varanasi. It will be inaugurated by national general secretary of the party Rahul Gandhi. A party spokesperson told our Lucknow correspondent that the event will be wrapped up by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who is also slated to address a public meeting on concluding day of convention. Others expected to attend the convention include several union minister, national general secretary of the party and in charge of UP affairs Digvijay Singh, CLP leader Pramod Tiwari and presidents of all frontal organisation of the state unit. It is the second event in recent past hosted by the state Congress leadership in Varanasi. A couple of months ago a weavers conference was organised in the city and it was attended by several senior party leaders. It is also said that the two-day convention could also see finalising of the poll strategy for mission 2012.
