Two-day 12th North East Business Summit inaugurated in New Delhi

Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh today inaugurated the 12th North-East Business Summit in New Delhi today. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said, the two-day summits aims to explore the scope for business opportunities in the North-Eastern region of the country. <br/><br/>He said, the focus areas are infrastructure, connectivity with Public-Private Partnerships, Skill Development, services sector development- particularly in Tourism, Hospitality and Food Processing. <br/><br/>He said, North Eastern states have potential which is still unexplored. <br/><br/>The Minster said, if one region of the country is underdeveloped, the country cannot be developed. <br/><br/>He said, about 40 per cent of the fruit production in North East goes waste due to lack of further processing. <br/><br/>Dr Singh said, Centre has taken various initiatives for ensuring ease of doing business in the North Eastern region. <br/><br/>He said, this region has much more to offer to the business community and appealed the business community to explore the unutilised potential of North East.
