In West Bengal, two policemen were killed in a land mine explosion at Bhimsole forest under Salboni police station in West Midnapore district by suspected Maoist today. According to official sources, five policemen were injured in the explosion and two of them died at the spot. Other three policemen have been admitted into local hospitals in a critical condition. The victims are jawans of Indian Reserve Battalion. The incident occurred when jawans of joint forces were conducting combing operation in the area.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that exchange of fire between the security forces and Maoist were also reported after the land mine explosion. Meanwhile, the Trinamul Congress Chief and Railway Minister Ms. Mamta Banerjee urged the Union Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram to review the law and order situation. Ms. Banerjee demanded imposition of article 356 of the Constitution to end escalating political violence at different parts of the state.<br/><br/>
