In Jammu & Kashmir, unidentified militants attacked and injuring an officer and a constable in south Kashmir's Bijbehara town of Anantnag district today afternoon. Reliable sources said Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Irshad Hussain was taking stock of the Eid-e-Milad procession arrangements in Bijbehara town around 12.30 this afternoon.<br/><br/>Suddenly, militants fired indiscriminately upon the police officer who received multiple grievous bullet injuries. He was immediately rushed to Srinagar for specialized treatment. <br/><br/>His PSO is also reported to have sustained minor injuries. No report of civilian injury was received from the area. The area has been cordoned and search operation launched to nab the attackers. More details are awaited.
