Two car bomb explosions kill five persons

In Iraq, five persons were killed and 17 others wounded in two car bomb explosions in southern Baghdad. Quoting police sources, Voice of Iraq News Agency reports that two car bombs went off simultaneously in Abu Dashier region on Wednesday evening. The killed include two policemen, while five policemen are among injured. The blast damaged nearby buildings. Meanwhile, the manual vote recount of Baghdad province will start on Monday. Head of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) said that commission has completed the technical and logistic procedures of the recounting process. The manual recount affects more than 25 lakh votes accounting 68 seats in the 325-seat Iraqi Parliament.The recounting will delay the formation of an Iraqi government coalition after a close race between Maliki and former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. Allawi’s Iraqiya bloc won 91 seats in the 325-member Parliament compared to 89 by Maliki’s State of Law alliance.
