In Iraq, 12 people have been killed and 55 others injured in twin car bomb blasts in south Iraqi city of Kut . According to police Lieutenant Ismail Hussein, the incident occurred when two cars parked nearby exploded at the same time at Al-Amel crossing. At commercial centre of Kut, which is the capital of Wasit province. The car bombings came hours after nine-security force members were killed in Baghdad in separate attacks. The sudden spike in violence comes amid deadlock over the formation of a new government almost five months after parliamentary elections in which no clear winner emerged.
