Twin blasts killed 20, injured 50 in Pakistan

At least 20 people were killed and 50 others injured today in two blasts that struck a camp set up for those displaced by anti-militancy operations in northwest Pakistan. The nature of the explosions at the Kuccha Pakka relief camp, located 30 kms from Hangu city in North West Frontier Province, could not immediately be ascertained. The second blast occurred when a large number of people had gathered to remove bodies and help the injured after the first explosion. Geo TV reports, the death toll in the twin blasts could well be above 25. The Security forces have cordoned off the area and an emergency has been declared in hospitals. About 300 internally displaced people were living in the relief camp. The blasts came a day after a suicide bomber struck a hospital in the southwestern city of Quetta, killing 11 people and injuring 40 others.
