In Uttar Pradesh, twenty one children have succumbed to Encephalitis in different districts of the state during past 48 hours. Quoting Official sources AIR correspondent reports that 8 children died at Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur, 11 in different hospitals in Lucknow and two patients succumbed to the deadly disease in Faizabad district. With this the death toll due to different kinds of encephalitis has mounted to 328 in the state this year. AIR correspondent reports that 271 patients are being treated for encephalitis in the BRD Medical college hospital and other government hospitals of Gorakhpur and Basti divisions while over 50 encephalitis patients are being treated at three government hospitals of Lucknow. Our correspondent adds that this year, as many as 2067 patients have been admitted to government hospitals of eastern region alone. Cases of Dengue, Malaria and Encephalitis are being reported from different districts of the state.
