In Champions League Twenty-20 Cricket, Ashwell Prince scored a brilliant 74 as Warriors defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 3 wickets in a thrilling opening Group-B match in Bangalore on Friday. At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore scored a formidable 172 for 8, after they were put into bat. Enduring a disastrous start, Bangalore were 34 for 2 at one stage. But it was a crucial 3rd wicket stand of 52 runs between Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers that helped Bangalore amass a respectable total. Kohli top scored for Bangalore with 34.In reply, Warriors, a South African club, overhauled the target on the last ball, winning the opening match of the main draw in style. Ashwell Prince and Skipper Johan Botha shared a 73-run stand for the 5th wicket as Bangalore suffered a demotivating defeat in the early stages of the tournament. Ashwell Price was adjudged man of the match.In the Group-A matches on Saturday, Cape Cobras will take on New South Wales at 4 PM, while Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians at 8 in the evening. Both the matches will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
