Twelve Arrested in Manipur as Police Intensify Search for Missing Students; Chief Minister Launches Permanent Housing Scheme for Violence-Affected Families

In Manipur, the police have arrested twelve persons suspected to be involved in the missing of two students who could not be traced since 5th of this month.<br />''After the missing of two students, fresh violence have erupted in the State and dozens of people have been injured in the firing incidents that took palce in different parts of the State. The two students are suspected to be kidnapped by unknown armed miscreants and their mobile handset were found in Senapati district which is a hill district of Manipur.<br />''<br />''Speaking to the media this evening in Imphal, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the security forces have been conducting search operations in different areas to trace the missing students and so far twelve persons who are suspected to be involved in the case have been arrested. He said that the Government will not allow anyone to operate with illegal arms in the State.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Manipur Chief Minister launched the Permanent Housing Scheme for the displaced persons whose houses had been burned down and damaged in the recent violence in the State. Under the scheme, a maximum of  ten lakh rupees will be provided to each family depending on a survey done by the competent authority. Four thousand eight hundred families have registered for the scheme till now and benefits have been handed over to twenty four beneficiaries in the launching event today.</span><br />
