Trustee of the Gandhi Peace foundation, Tushar Gandhi has advised corporates to step beyond their comfort level in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Stating that making CSR a statutory obligation is bad in nature, Mr. Gandhi said visible difference in the society can be brought only after companies step beyond their comfort zones. <br />”<br />”<br />”Recalling his great grandfather Mahatma Gandhi’s words, he said that one must do charity till it pinches and that is benevolence. He was speaking at a CII seminar in Mumbai on Monday on the topic ARISE: Accountability, Reforms, Innovation, Sustainability and Employment. It is mandatory for companies to earmark 2 percent of their profits for spending on corporate social responsibility activities. <br />”<br />”<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Gandhi said disparity in development can be addressed when profit making companies decide to take responsibility to work for change.</span><br />
