Turkish PM orders architectural changes in earthquake prone areas

Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has ordered architectural changes in the eastern region of the country where 51 people were killed in yesterday's earthquake. <br/> <br/>Mr. Erdogan has blamed the higher number of casualties on mud-brick buildings used in the area. Survivors have been huddling around fires in near-freezing temperatures, while relief and rescue efforts are on. <br/> <br/>The 6.0-magnitude quake struck before dawn yesteday toppling buildings in five villages. Residents of the affected villages have been warned not to return to damaged homes as the area was shaken by dozens of aftershocks, the strongest of which measured 5.5 on the Ritcher scale.
