Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that if the European Union continued to threaten his country, he would allow hundreds of thousands of migrants to flood into EU countries. <br/><br/>He was reacting to a non-binding vote by the European Parliament to freeze talks on EU membership for Turkey. He accused the EU of breaking its promises. <br/><br/>As part of the March deal, Turkey was promised aid, visa-free travel for its nationals and accelerated membership talks.<br/><br/>The European Parliament, in a symbolic vote on Thursday, demanded the bloc to freeze membership negotiations with Turkey over its crackdown following the failed military coup in July. <br/><br/>Over 110,000 people have been sacked or suspended from their jobs, and over 36,000 people have been jailed over suspected links to the Muslim cleric living in the United States whom Erdogan blames for the coup attempt.
