Turkey seeks enhanced bilateral economic ties with India

Turkey has sought enhanced bilateral economic co-operation with India. Talking to All India Radio the visiting President of Turkey Mr. Abdullah Gul said that both the countries are booming economies and strategically located to be partners in the progress.<br/><br/>President of Turkey arrived in New Delhi on Sunday and is on a five day state visit of the country. He was given a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan Tuesday morning.<br/><br/>Counter terrorism, and issues related to peace and stability in Afghanistan are expected to dominate the talks the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will have with the President of Turkey Tuesday afternoon. <br/><br/>The two leaders are expected to take stock of the situation in Afghanistan and the role of international community in that country. A whole range of bilateral and regional issues are also likely to be covered in the talks. <br/><br/>The issue of India being kept out of the regional conference hosted by Turkedy last month is also expected to be raised in the discussion.<br/><br/>The President of Turkey will also address the captains of Indian industry later in the day. He will also visit Agra and Mumbai during his visit to India.<br/>
