In Turkey, government has lifted a historic ban on female army officers wearing the Islamic headscarf. The state-run Anadolu news agency said today that the the defence ministry has ordered the move. <br/><br/>It will be applied to all female officers working in the general staff and command headquarters and branches. Turkey lifted a ban on the wearing of the headscarfon university campuses in 2010.<br/><br/>It allowed female students to wear the headscarf in state institutions from 2013 and in high school in 2014. Turkey has a secular constitution with no state religion since 1920.<br/><br/>
