T&T PM to hold delegation-level talks with PM

Prime Minister of Trinidad-and-Tobago Kamla Persad-Bissessar will hold delegation level talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh this evening to further strengthen Cooperation between the two countries. Pacts on health, education and cultural sectors are expected to be signed after the talks.

Addressing captains of industry ahead of the summit level talks she invited Indian businessmen to invest in that country. Earlier she told media, after she was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, that Trinidad-and-Tobago is keen to strengthen and deepen the relations with India.

Mrs. Bissessar arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a 10-day state visit to India. She is accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation. During her stay in the national capital, she will call on the President and the Vice President and exchange views with other leaders. Apart from visiting Bihar where she traces her roots, she will also visit Kolkata and Mumbai during her stay.

Mrs. Bissessar will be the chief guest at the Pravasi Bharati Divas in Jaipur .The three day event begins tomorrow. She will be honoured with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman on Monday. It is her first state visit to India of the year.
