US media is reporting that President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, suggested setting up a secret communications channel with Moscow. He is said to have proposed the idea in a meeting with Russian ambassador Sergei Kisylak in December last year.<br/><br/>The channel was reportedly meant to allow former national security adviser Michael Flynn to discuss Syria and other issues with Russia. But it was apparently not set up as Flynn was forced to resign over his alleged ties to Moscow.<br/><br/>The Washington Post and the New York Times cited US government officials in reports that said Kushner called for a secure line between Trump's transition team and the Kremlin. <br/><br/>The Washington Post report yesterday said the Russian ambassador reported to his superiors that Kushner proposed using Russian diplomatic facilities.<br/><br/>On Thursday, US media reported that he was under scrutiny for his role in suspected collusion between Trump's team and Russia.<br/><br/>
