US President Donald Trump spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and discussed the Ukraine conflict and the situation in Afghanistan. The White House said this in a statement after a telephonic conversation between the two leaders yesterday. It said, the leaders discussed several issues of mutual interest.<br/><br/>The Trump administration is currently in the process of reviewing its policy on Afghanistan, where the US has over 8,000 troops on the ground.
