US President Donald Trump has described the latest batch of UN-backed sanctions against North Korea as a very small step. He said, it must lead to tougher measures. Mr Trump said this during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Washington. <br/><br/>State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, the UN resolution represented the strongest set of sanctions so far. She said, Mr Trump was conveying that tougher measures can still be taken because the international community is not at the ceiling of what can be done.<br/><br/>The Security Council has unanimously slapped a ban on textile exports and restricted shipments of oil products to punish Pyongyang for its sixth and largest nuclear test. The measures stopped well short of an oil embargo that Washington had been seeking, but which is opposed by China.
