In the United States, Trump administration has revoked guidance enacted by his predecessor in favour of transgender students. <br/><br/>White House said that the administration has lifted federal guidelines that had been issued by the Obama administration instructing schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their gender identities. <br/><br/>White House spokesman Sean Spicer said that the administration was pressed to act because of a case pending in the US Supreme Court. In a letter to the nation's schools, the Justice and Education departments said the earlier guidance has given rise to significant litigation regarding school restrooms and locker rooms.
