Foreign Secretary, S Jaishankar today said, the Trump Administration has a very positive view of the Indo-US relationship and a lot of interest in taking the ties forward. After his wide-ranging talks with senior Cabinet members and top officials in Washington, he said India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue would be held later this year. <br/><br/>The Dialogue was started under the previous Obama administration. Jaishankar said, US Congress has been extraordinarily supportive of the growth of India-US relationship. He said, during the discussions with US administration, he felt that there is a lot of respect for the economic changes which have taken place in India. <br/><br/>He added that it is an acknowledgment that there has been a very robust growth and that has made India a particularly attractive partner. Jaishankar said, overall, there is a very positive sense of India as a partner across the board in the US Administration, whether it is business, security, defence cooperation, India's engagement in the region or working together on international issues.<br/><br/>Jaishankar, along with Commerce Secretary Rita Teotia, is on a visit to the United States to engage with the new Trump administration. They held a number of key meetings, including with Secretary of State Tillerson, Commerce Secretary Ross, Secretary of Homeland Security Gen (retd) John Kelly, National Security Advisor R McMaster, and Deputy Assistant to the President, Ken Juster.<br/><br/>During the talks with Homeland Security Gen (retd) John Kelly, Jaishankar discussed issues related to immigration and welfare of the Indians and Indian American community in the US. The discussion assume significance in the backdrop of the death of Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla, who was killed in a shooting by an American navy veteran.
