In US, President, Donald Trump faced explosive allegations that he divulged top secret intelligence to Russian diplomats. Quoting officials, the Washington Post and the New York Times reported that Mr.Trump revealed highly classified information on the Islamic State group during a meeting last week with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov and the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Sergey Kislyak at the Oval Office. <br/><br/>Washington Post said, Mr. Trump went off script during the meeting, describing details about an Islamic State terror threat related to the use of laptop computers on airplanes, revealing the city where the information was gathered. <br/><br/>U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and other members of the Trump administration have denied the accuracy of published reports. <br/>National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said, the President did not disclose any military operations that were not already publicly known and at no time were intelligence sources or methods were discussed. <br/><br/> Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who also attended the meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister and Russian Ambassador, said a broad range of subjects were discussed, among which were common efforts and threats regarding counter-terrorism. <br/><br/>The latest controversy came as Trump's administration reels from the fallout over his abrupt dismissal of former FBI Director, James Comey and amid congressional calls for an independent investigation into allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
