In Jharkhand, the truck Owners held a demonstration at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi demanding better protections against illegal collections of money from them by different groups and individuals in the state. The various truck owners said that operating a truck is becoming a very difficult business as the truck loaded with goods are constantly targeted for collections of money in remote areas not only by the Maoists, but also other groups and individuals. They claimed that their complaints are often not followed duly by the police.
