In Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) has retained 6 out of 12 Assembly constituencies in the by-elections. BJP has also retained one seat-Nizamabad Urban. PCC president D Srinivas has been defeated by BJP candidate Lakshminarayana by a majority of 11,886 votes in Nizamabada Urban. State Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao has said in Hyderabad that the TRS candidate from Siddipet, Harish Rao won by 95,858 margin. The TRS candidates from Dharmapuri, and Vemulavada also won by a majority of more than 50,000 votes over their congress opponents. Though the TRS has also retained Sirpur, Chennur (SC) and Manchiryal segments, the official declaration is awaited. Meanwhile, after 3rd round of manual counting, TRS is leading in 5 other segments where poling was held through ballot paper. The final results are expected to be declared by late evening in these segments.
