In Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Rastra Samithi and its lone electoral ally, the BJP, have swept the bye-elections held to 12 Assembly Constituencies in Telangana region. The TRS won 11 seats by huge margins while the BJP retained one seat defeating PCC president D Srinivas by a majority of 11,886 votes in Nizamabad Urban. While the Telugh Desam Party lost deposit in all the 12 seats, the Congress candidates lost it in four segments. However, the final results will be officially declared this morning in 5 segments where ballot paper is used.
