In Andhra Pradesh, the 48-hour long Bandh called by Telangana Rastra Samithi – (TRS) demanding statehood for Telangana is total and underway. Though the bandh was more or less peaceful in Hyderabad, turned violent at several places in the districts of Telangana region.<br/><br/>The normal life has been paralyzed across the region even as the TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao continued his fast at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad. The hospital superintendent, Satyanarayana told media last night that despite suffering from fever, the health condition of the TRS President is ‘stable’.<br/>He said the necessary medication and supportive therapy are being given to the TRS President. He has refused to call off his fast unless a clear statement made by the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi when Chief Minister K Rosaiah has called on him late last night.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent M.S. Lakshmi reports from Hyderabad that Suicide attempts, damage to public and private property, stone pelting, protests and rallies marked the first day of the two-day bandh being observed by the TRS in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. The bandh was total with sporadic incidents taking place across the region and brought the normal life to a stand still. The Road Transport Corporation has withdrawn its services while the trains are delayed due to rail roko at several places across the region posing severe inconvenience to commuters.<br/><br/><br/>
