Telangana Rastra Samthi President K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday ruled out any possibility of electoral alliance with the Congress party. Addressing party workers in Hyderabad, he said TRS had thought of merger with congress to secure statehood for Telangana and prevent suicides of youths who were agitating for a new state.
But, he said, people now want TRS to play a constructive role in rebuilding Telangana state. A week ago, Rao ruled out merger with Congress party and set up a committee under the chairmanship of Kesava Rao to study the possibilities of having an alliance with Congress party.
He also took objection over Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh over considering tickets to family members of those who committed suicides during the agitation.
