TRS rules out any possibility of electoral alliance with Congress

Telangana Rastra Samthi President K. Chandrasekhar Rao today ruled out any possibility of electoral alliance with the Congress party. Addressing party workers in Hyderabad, he said there is no question of having poll adjustment with Congress party.

Stating that the TRS had thought of merger with congress to secure statehood for Telangana and prevent suicides of youths who were agitating for a new state, Rao said now people want TRS to play a constructive role in rebuilding Telangana state.

He rejected the remarks of AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh that TRS has betrayed by not merging with Congress after the creation of Telangana.

A week ago, Rao ruled out merger with Congress party and set up a committee under the chairmanship of Kesava rao to study the possibilities of having an alliance with Congress party.

He also took objection over Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh over considering tickets to family members of those who committed suicides during the agitation.
